Welcome to All About Infertility
Julie Morgan RGN, MSc, APM (PFQ)
Consultant Nurse with extensive experience in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
About me
I believe passionately in evidence-based practice and am a member of multiple ART and Project Management societies as well as the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
In mid-2017 I started an educational sabbatical to study for my master’s degree. As part of the research for my dissertation, ‘A Project Initiation Plan for the development of an algorithm to prescribe IVF medication based upon hormone levels’. I attended 10 infertility conferences, completed 2, full worldwide, Fertility and IVF market analyses, read at least 200 books and reviewed over 5000 published papers, grey literature and abstracts, all about infertility. I loved every minute of it!
However, I was not prepared for the shock that I felt at both the inconsistency and inaccuracy of the information that is available to patients at all stages of their fertility journey. I attended one conference, aimed at infertility patients, where two clinicians from the same clinic gave two separate lectures, with two completely opposing opinions, about the same topic. How on earth is a patient expected to know who to believe? and what to do for the best?.
All IVF clinics are not the same, and often one will suit a patient’s particular medical history, needs and circumstances better than another. So, I would like to share my new knowledge, together with my 27 years experience, to provide a guide to help navigate the complex world of infertility.
